Jenny Beyer Cornell

Jenny Beyer Cornell, a native of Philadelphia, received the degree of Doctor of Musical Arts in conducting from Stanford University in 1999, and holds graduate and undergraduate degrees in music from San Francisco State University and Temple University’s Boyer College of Music, respectively.

She served as Music Director of the San Diego Master Chorale from 1999 through 2002, preparing choruses for the San Diego Symphony and San Diego Chamber Orchestra; and in 1999 and 2000 was Assistant Conductor of the Huntsville Festival Orchestra in Ontario (Canada) under maestro Kerry Stratton.

For ten years, she was Music Director of the San Francisco Concert Chorale and Orchestra, whose artistic partners included the Kronos Quartet, the Margaret Jenkins Dance Company and the Bay Area Women’s Philharmonic. From 1979 to 1984, she was Director of Choral Music at Sonoma State University, and has also been assistant conductor and chorus master with West Bay Opera, Fremont Opera and Berkeley Opera.

Jason Kneebone has been teaching music in Silicon Valley since 2005. As a Bay Area native, he has developed a passion for fusing technology with the arts. Jason earned his Bachelor’s degree in Bass Trombone Performance from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. While in SLO, he met the woman of his dreams slinging a sousaphone on the Marching Band rehearsal field. After graduating he moved back to Los Altos to live with his folks while finishing his Music Ed coursework and Teaching Credential from San José State University.

Jason served as the Director of Instrumental Music at Mountain View High School from 2007 to 2020 and is now on the Music Team at Tierra Linda Middle School in San Carlos. He also enjoys being a Full-Time Dad to a 6th-Grader, a Kindergartener, a Preschooler, and their spoiled pooch, Archie. He moonlights as a media and design consultant, amateur woodworker, plays Bass Trombone player with A Touch of Brass Big Band out of San José, and is entering his third season as Assistant Conductor for the Peninsula Youth Orchestra.
